Job Overview
The Welcome Center Family Liaison is responsible for connecting families who visit the Welcome Center to resources within LCPS to ensure a bridge of support. The Welcome Center Family Liaison is also responsible for helping families successfully navigate their appointment at the Welcome Center, while providing assistance in transitioning to the student’s zoned school.
Roles and Responsiblities
- Greeting families and creating a warm and welcoming environment at the Welcome Center
- Providing school and community resources
- Ensuring a positive flow as families meet with various Welcome Center staff
- Assisting Welcome Center Family Liaison with researching, connecting, and collaborating with community agencies to gather and update information to share with families
- Collaborating with Family Liaisons at home schools
- Assisting the Welcome Center Family Liaison with family engagement plans
- Assisting the Welcome Center Family Liaison with conducting interviews, maintaining data, and compiling survey results
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to make all families feel welcome in the school and the community
- Ability to work efficiently and with accuracy
- Exceptional customer support skills
- Ability to ensure confidentiality, discretion, and sensitivity to diverse family situations
- Ability to work in a very fast pace and ability to multitask is a must
Preferred Qualifications Spanish Speaking preferred

Salary: Banded Position, Band 7
Salary Scale: https://www.lcps.org/compensation
Salary Range: $21.22 hourly
This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position. No guarantee of minimum hours.
Assigned hours are contingent upon need.
Working hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly Thursday
