Job Overview

The Facilitator, Procedural Support will provide guidance and support to school administrators and direction to staff regarding the implementation of federal and state regulations and division policies related to students with disabilities.  The Instructional Facilitator will ensure accountability for compliance with federal and state regulations.  

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

  • Support monitoring and completion of corrective action measures and agreement components.
  • Prepare confidential/legal documentation for staff and attorneys.
  • Develop and deliver professional learning to various levels of staff.
  • Collect and analyze areas of compliance data across the division.
  • Collaborate with staff in various departments regarding compliance with federal and state regulations and local policy and regulations.
  • Support the management of litigation matters including the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaints, state complaints, and due process hearings.

 

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

 

     Education

      Bachelor’s Degree required

 

     Experience

      Minimum of three years of experience in Special Education or related field

 

     Licenses and Certifications

  • Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in one or more areas of Special Education preferred

 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with effective, evidence-based instructional methodologies, such as multisensory and/or structured instructional approaches
  • Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, and materials of specially designed instruction
  • Knowledge of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) school division mission, goals, and organization preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Months/Days/Hours: 11 months/ 217 days/ 7hours

Salary Level: Licensed
