DESCRIPTION: 

Teacher will guide 4th and 5th grade students through a STEM based curriculum. Teachers will implement learning experiences in collaboration with the Science department and PROPEL & Level Up. Teachers will facilitate the learning of students using inquiry-based learning techniques. Teachers will facilitate two 2 ½ hour STEM courses per day, for a two week PROPEL STEM Camp. Teachers will have an opportunity to select and teach courses based on a curriculum provided by the program.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Promote healthy academic behaviors in children in a developmentally appropriate manner
  • Establish a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning and enables students to demonstrate agency, ownership, and reflection
  • Facilitate students utilizing the inquiry-based learning model
  • Mentor and work with student counselors
  • Support and participate in the professional learning community to deepen the understanding of the curriculum, content, and competencies

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: 

This part-time hourly position reports to the STEM Supervisor.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position. No guarantee of minimum hours.

 

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30

Required Training: June 20-21

Locations:

 

  • July 8-19 at Sterling Middle School

 

 

 

Salary Level: Banded Rates: Band 15

Salary Scale: https://www.lcps.org/compensation

Salary Range: $39.14 per hour
